About the Ian Millar School of Horsemanship Retirement Paddock:
The Ian Millar School of Horsemanship is home to over 30 hard working school horses and ponies that have put in countless years of service to teach students how to ride. Horseback riding offers physical, mental, and emotional benefits, and above all a unique bond between horse and rider making it unlike any other sport. It is a discipline that can be pursued as a lifelong passion, where even those at the highest level never stop learning. None of this would be possible without patient and dedicated horses that introduce riders to the sport.
All of the proceeds from this calendar will benefit the Wesley Clover Parks Retirement Paddock, which will give our school horses the quality of care that they deserve when they are ready to relax and enjoy their golden years!
The location of the Retirement Paddock can be found on our virtual tour. If you are interested in visiting the Retirement Paddock, please call, email, or stop by our main office and we will be happy to arrange a tour.

March, April & May: Orange Horse Studio, Jen Hladkowicz
“My passion for photography spawned from my love of horses at a young age; horses were my first muse. I chose to study Fine Art and Art History at the University of Ottawa, graduating with a BFA, and later refining my digital photography skills by completing a photography diploma at Algonquin College. I gained experience in the wedding industry by second-shooting and working as primary photographer for various wedding-photography companies.
Whether I’m photographing horses and their riders, or documenting a wedding, I bring the same curiosity and energy. My approach is the same, whether on film or digital; paying special attention to the little moments that become memories. I aim to tell a story through images, each photograph playing a part to contribute to the feeling of the day. I love street photography (such as the work of Robert Frank & Vivian Mahier) and bring the same approach to weddings. Quiet observation and connection between images and my focus is on capturing candid moments, complimented with lightly posed portraits.”
